LGB would like to invite you to an open rehearsal to listen to the band in our final preparations for a big competition in Stevenage.  We will be competing against 14 other bands, all playing the same piece of music!  The piece is called “Hollywood!” and it’s by Goff Richards.  It’s not your usual testpiece – it was written to sound like the music that’s used in various types of film – a bit like “The Greatest Show on Earth” if you know that piece.

You’ll hear the band go through its usual warm up and run through a couple of other pieces, as well as “Hollywood!” (it does have an exclamation mark in the title!!!).  As some of you will know,  Christina, our Principal Cornet had a bit of an accident last week, and we’re not sure yet if she’ll be fit to play, so Adam is currently in the hot seat and doing a sterling job.

If you are able to join us at All Saints around 8pm, we’d be delighted to see you.  I’d be grateful if you would let me know if you are coming so that we have a rough idea for the refreshments please.  It’s a real help to the band, to play in front of an audience – just to remind us of the pressure!
