Meet the Team:
Nathaniel has been playing brass instruments since he was 11, spending many hours of his time playing in groups, bands and ensembles at school and with Dorset Music Service, even performing at the Royal Albert Hall!
Since first picking up the trumpet, Nathaniel has been on a broad musical journey through teaching students from their very first notes to grade 8, this journey has inspired Nathaniel to share his passion of music with everyone. Having previously set up a youth project at Wareham Town Band, becoming the Assistant Director at Davison Worthing Youth Concert Band in Worthing and now Nathaniel is excited to get stuck into sharing his love of Brass in Lewes!
Joy started her brass journey at the age of 12, learning cornet with her Dad before joining her local Salvation Army brass band and school ensembles. She soon moved onto the trumpet and developed her playing in as many ensembles and bands as she could. Joy spent 3 years as Principal Cornet of the University of Chichester Brass Band embarking on tours of the Channel Islands, many concerts and recordings at Abbey Road Studios in her time with the band. Throughout her years of playing, both performing and teaching Joy has developed a drive to share her passion for music.
