Tom takes to the pool for charity

On Sunday 29th April LGB will be squaring up to our next contest challenge, the scaba Spring Contest at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley. But for one member it’ll be the second major challenge of that particular weekend…

Solo cornet player (and general web geek) Tom Elliott will be taking part in the annual ‘Swimathon’ event on Saturday 28th April, and trying to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity at the same time.

The swim is a 5km distance challenge – equivalent to just over 3 miles, or 200 lengths of a 25m pool.

If you’d like to sponsor Tom for the ridiculous and frankly probably quite ill-advised event, you can do so online on his official fundraising page, or through the traditional paper method if you’re likely to be at the LGB concerts or rehearsals over the next few weeks. Sponsorship will also earn you the right to mock Tom mercilessly when he’s struggling to hold his cornet the next day at the spring contest.

All donations will be very gratefully received by the Marie Curie charity, who you can find out more about on their website.
