The band have had a busy time over the festive period. Groups were out playing carols on various days in Lewes and Ringmer, and we’d like to thank the generous people of both for their donations to the band. Sadly, the weather wasn’t on our side for carol services at Nevill Green and Eastbourne Sovereign Harbour (RNLI), we’ll be back next year! We also had a great time at our own concert at All Saints, where we put on “The LGB Christmas Carol” with Miles Jenner, Kate Peckham, David Farey and Duncan Taylor-Jones narrating excerpts from the famous Dickens story, interspersed with music from the band. Mulled wine flowed and mince pies were consumed with festive abandon. We’d like to thank the Lewes Lions for their support of this concert.
Talking of the Lewes Lions, we again had the pleasure of performing at their own Christmas Concert. The Town Hall was full to bursting and mulled wine and mince pies were again the order of the day. The band would like to thank the Lewes lions for their most generous donation to our Training Band.
The last concert of the year was at St. Saviour’s in Eastbourne as part of their Gala Christmas Concert. Along with the St. Andrew’s Singers and The Renaissance Singers, a good time was had by all – though we did miss Paul’s Winter Wonderland this year!! There was then a final burst of carolling over the Christmas weekend and we would like to thank Harvey’s Brewery for their most generous donation.
