Scrooge comes to town!

The Lewes Glynde and Beddingham (LGB) Brass Band performed ‘A Christmas Carol’ with a twist (!) last Saturday at the All Saints Arts Centre in Lewes – three narrators telling Dickens’ story accompanied by a variety of Christmas music, from Tchaikovsky’s  Nutcracker to Howard Blake’s Walking in the Air. Put together by Ian Stewart, LGB’s musical director, over a hundred supporters were treated to the telling of the story of Scrooge and his problems with three Christmas ghosts – past, present and future – superbly played and voiced by Miles Jenner, Kate Peckham and Bob Murdoch. A convivial atmosphere was enhanced by mulled wine and mince pies, various interesting  raffle prizes together with the attendance of many representatives from Lewes-based organisations including the Council, Lions Club and the British Legion.

LGB Brass would like to offer all of its supporters a very Happy Christmas, and we are looking forward to a busy and successful 2016!
