Front row wedding keeps the band busy

On Saturday 23rd June, at 3.30pm, Bumper Adam Kearley said “I do” to front row cornet Christina Farey.

The happy couple were married by Christina’s Dad,  Rev. David Farey, at All Saints Church, Laughton. A quintet from the band (Simon, Alex, Angela, Jane and Roger), conducted by Ian Stewart, were there to play the hymns. Part of the campanology team, ringing a quarter peal after the service, was our 2nd euph, Richard Sherlock. Other members of the band joined the party later in the evening and a great time was had by all.

Adam and Christina first met through playing trumpet with various ensembles, so they both have more than one reason to be grateful to East Sussex Music Service, where Christina now works as a brass teacher. Even their Order of Service had a musical theme (see ring placement…).

Being the considerate couple they are, they’ve even managed to arrange their honeymoon so as not to miss any band jobs!

The band wishes Adam and Christina all the very best for the future.
