The band is still Entertaining – More top prizes at the scaba Entertainments contest

Lewes Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band brought some more silverware home this weekend with success at the scaba Entertainment contest.

The band were placed second overall, retaining the trophy from 2016.

The best Soloist prize was awarded to Jon Smith, our Principal Euphonium.

The Trombone section Peter Cowlett, Lizzie Holmes, Ann Zeal-Bland, Jane Stewart, were awarded best Trombone section (again) after a brilliant performance of The Girl from Ipanema (with some outstanding additional samba percussion by the back row cornets)

The Entertainment programme was on the theme of Dance, with the band playing:
