Returning to playing or looking for something new?

We’re always ready to welcome new players, so whatever your story – whether you’re an experienced bander who’s new to the area or you played as a youngster and want to get back into it – there’s a seat here for you.

Who are we?

We are 30-ish people of all ages and backgrounds. We’ve got carpenters, IT consultants, mechanics, nurses, loads of teachers for some reason, airline cabin crew, a retired train driver, and a rocket scientist (yes, really). We come from Lewes, Seaford, Eastbourne, East Grinstead, Bexhill, Brighton, Hove (actually), Hailsham, Haywards Heath and Horsham, by car, train, and… Well that’s probably it to be fair. The station’s really handy for our rehearsal space.

Why do we do it?

Because we love it?

For the ready-made social circle (if you want it). For the genuine joy of making good music with good people. For the opportunity to experience things most people don’t get the chance to. For the mental challenge that beats scrolling through your phone in front of the TV on a Thursday evening.

Because it’s #topbanding

Why should you?

If you’ve been thinking about coming along to a band, obviously we’re a bit biased, but we can’t recommend it enough. Even if it’s not us.

Modern life is full of distractions. We’re constantly multi-tasking, thinking about one thing while doing something else. Band is one of the few places where you are really present and in the moment.

It’s basically meditation, but a bit louder.

Our home

We rehearse once a week, on Thursdays from 8-10pm at the All Saints Centre, Friars Walk, Lewes.

There is free parking around but it can get busy – unless you know the area we recommend using the station car park, which is a couple of minutes walk away.

Have we convinced you yet?

If you’re still on the fence, or even if you’re all in but just want to know the next steps, drop us a line and our secretary Jane will give you all the info you need.

We’d definitely ask that you let us know you’re coming, so we can have an instrument ready if you need one, and make sure someone’s ready to say hello properly.

So – Thursday night then?! Bring a stand 😉
