Ian and Jane Stewart have made the difficult decision to end their time with the Lewes, Glynde & Beddingham Brass Band.
Ian, who has been our Musical Director for over 25 years said “I am immensely proud of all the band has achieved during my time here. The band is in a good place and I feel that now is the right time for them to continue their development with a new MD.”
Jane has been our Secretary for almost 20 years. She said “There will be a huge hole in my banding life, but I am delighted that I can remain as a Trustee of our newly formed charity.”
During their long service with the band, Ian and Jane have seen the band through many successes including 4th, 3rd and 2nd section champions in the areas and in 2013, Ian led the band at the national finals to a victory in the 3rd section.
They have achieved numerous SCABA awards as well as band tours to Germany and Hungary. Not to mention endless concerts, engagements, parades and many a performance on a windy bandstand and muddy field.
The band wish to extend their thanks to Ian and Jane and we wish them well for their future.
