New learners' group for LGB Brass
LGB Brass has launched a new group for children who want to learn to
play a brass instrument.
The group meets at 6.30pm on Mondays at the All Saints Centre in
Lewes. Sessions last about 45 minutes and are led by the band
chairman, Simon Emberley.
Children who join the group have a chance to try out a range of
brass instruments from the band to see which they prefer. During
the sessions they receive coaching in how to play the instrument and
how to read music. Afterwards, they can take the instrument home to
practice.
So far, the group has two cornet players, a horn and euphonium.
They will eventually join the band's junior band that rehearses on
Thursday evenings at 7pm.
Parents of children who would like to play a brass instrument can
contact Simon Emberley via
the website or phone 07768 438433.
