Quartet contest success
LGB players took 2nd and 3rd places in the SCABA annual quartet and
ensemble contest at Ringmer School on February 14th
The LGB Brass A quartet (Simon and Alex Emberley, Sharon Wilson and
Steve Gietzen) took 2nd place in the 2nd section competition, with 176
points. The LGB B quartet (Simon Emberley, Emma Boswell, Ruth Hayhurst
and Tony Line) took 3rd place in the same competition with 175 points.
LGB's musical director, Ian Stewart, who also plays solo trombone
for Friary Guildford, came 3rd in both the Open Air and Variation and
Open Slow Melody competitions.
